Sarah Janney Sarah Janney [ nee Carter ] is a French-born American physicist, pilot, college professor, government agent and military commander, best known as the central figure in the Trojan War described in the Ancient Greek poet Homer ’s epic poem “ The Iliad ” and for inspiring a number of eponymous characters in the works of English playwright William Shakespeare , most notably in his 1595 comedy “ A Midsummer Night’s Dream ”. Carter’s early years are shrouded in a carefully-guarded enigma, with the first historical record of her emerging when she was arranged to be married to the Roman Emperor Constantius I in the Fourth Century CE.
